Entry Level Transportation/Traffic Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL Company: CALTRAN Engineering Group, Inc.

CALTRAN Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Transportation/Traffic Engineer as part of Tampa office. You will be working with a fast growing firm, helping to prepare traffic studies and resolve challenging issues, be involved in parking analyses, field visits, origin-destination studies and travel demand modeling tasks. Our projects range from local projects to major regional studies.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Help prepare traffic impact studies and memorandums.
  • Help analyze major operational traffic issues and recommend solutions.
  • Performs site plan reviews to identify any violations of traffic design standards and possible safety hazards.
  • Assist in design and preparation of construction plans and specifications for signing and pavement markings, signalization, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • EIT or ability to pass the FE within the first six months of employment.
  • 0-2 years of traffic analysis/study experience and/or modeling.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with traffic simulation software such as CORSIM, VISSIM, and Synchro.
  • Experience with Florida DOT design criteria, standards and specifications.
  • Experience with GIS, Microstation/GEOPak.

Transportation Analyst
Location: Tallahassee, FL Company: Cambridge Systematics

Cambridge Systematics is looking for a Junior Transportation Analyst to join the team in Tallahassee. The Junior Transportation Analyst at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) works under the general supervision of a Project Manager on assignments such as statewide, regional and corridor planning studies, transportation policy research and analysis, technical support for development and implementation of statewide plans such as the Strategic Intermodal System Policy Plan and other office planning functions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produces and delivers exceptional quality work that is thorough, polished, and reflects well on CS
  • Provides exceptional value-added service to project managers and/or clients and communicates consistently with internal and external team members
  • Actively listens and seeks to understand client or project manager needs
